झप्पी

दिन भर वो ज़िंदा होता तो है इस पिंजर सीने में  

ज़िन्दगी उसकी मगर यूँ नहीं धड़कती है हमेशा 

शाम आज यूँ लिपट कर मुझ से मिली थी तुम। 

It lives through the day within the chest's cage,

Its life however seldom throbs in such fashion,

You met me this evening with such a tight hug.
